If Kamal Nath joins the BJP, around 12 Congress MLAs and leaders may join him: Sources. Sources informed India Today on Saturday that there is a possibility of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath and his son Nakul joining the BJP, along with approximately 12 Congress MLAs and former legislators.


After arriving in Delhi on Saturday, Kamal Nath and his son, who is a Member of Parliament from Chhindwara, faced speculations about their possible entry into the BJP. However, the veteran Congress leader remained tight-lipped about joining the BJP. Nath told reporters outside his residence, "It's not about denying, you are saying it, you guys are excited. I am not excited. Whether it's this way or that way, if there is such a thing, I will inform you first." Delhi residence.

Earlier in the day, Chhindwara MP Nakul Nath removed 'Congress' from his Twitter bio. Congress MLA Sajjan Singh Verma from Sonkatch also reportedly removed the party's logo from his social media profile.


BJP spokesperson and former media advisor to Kamal Nath, Narendra Saluja, posted a picture of the former Chief Minister and his son in Bhopal with the caption, "Jai Shri Ram."


If Kamal Nath and his son join the BJP, the announcement could be made after the two-day national conference of the party in Delhi's Bharat Mandapam.


Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh stated that he spoke to Kamal Nath on Friday night and dismissed the speculations about the leader and his son joining the BJP. "A person who started his political journey and stood with the Nehru-Gandhi family when Indira Gandhi was sent to jail by the Janata Party, do you think such a person will ever leave the Congress and the Gandhi family?" PTI news agency quoted Singh as saying.


Earlier this month, when asked about the speculations of Kamal Nath switching sides, he made a cryptic comment, "There are so many rumors going around, what can I say about them?" The Congress leader said.


When asked if his Congress colleagues like Aacharya Pramod Krishnam could join the BJP, Kamal Nath replied, "Everyone is free, and no one is obligated to stay connected with any party."

Reportedly Kamal Nath is dissatisfied with the party's behavior towards him after the recent loss in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, where the Congress managed to win only 66 seats in the 230-member house, shortly after leading the party as the Madhya Pradesh chief.
