About Dunki

Dunki revolves around the theme of journalism. The title is derived from the word 'Gadha Yatra,' which refers to a challenging and often perilous journey that people undertake worldwide to reach places where they aspire to report. After the success of Pathan and Jawaan, Dunki was Shah Rukh's final release in 2023. Speaking about working with Shah Rukh, Rajkumar Hirani mentioned in a recent interview with ANI, "You always want to make a film with a meaningful and good story. Shah Rukh liked the story from the beginning. After doing action films, as an actor, he wanted to do something different, and that's why he was quite connected to it and happy. I also wanted to work with him for a long time, and for me, that wish came true. I fulfilled my desire and, finally, we worked together and had a lot of fun."

Dunki vs. Salaar

Dunki received mixed reviews from audiences and critics, competing with Prabhas's blockbuster Salaar: Part 1 - Ceyphair. The Hindi version of Salaar is set to release on Disney+Hotstar on February 16. The film was originally shot in Telugu and has been released in Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil theaters as well. Except for Hindi, other versions were released on Netflix last month.
