Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin thrilled after meeting Novak Djokovic after Australian Open

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was thrilled after he met tennis great Novak Djokovic en route to Spain. The DMK chief took to social media to share a photo from their "surprise" in-flight meeting.

"Surprise in the skies. Met tennis legend Novak Djokoivc en route to Spain," MK Stalin wrote sharing a photo of himself with the 24-time Grand Slam champion.

Notably, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin departed for Spain on Saturday for an 8-day trip to attract investors to the state. During the overseas visit, he would engage some of the largest industrial companies, including ROCA and Gestamp, and the investment organisation Invest in Spain, in discussions and ensure investment in Tamil Nadu, he was quoted as saying by PTI.

Novak Djokovic was in Australia over the last few weeks for his Australian Open and United Cup commitments. The Serb lost to eventual champion Jannik Sinner in the men's singles semi-final of the season's first Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne on Friday.

Novak Djokovic was the favourite to win the men's singles crown after having stitched a 33-match winning run at Australian Open. However, Djokovic's 4-year-long winning run ended when Sinner stunned the World No. 1 in 4 sets.

Djokovic has often talked about his connection with India and its people. The Serb was recently seen expressing his intent to visit the country again while revealing that he has been in touch with Virat Kohli over text messages.

"I've felt that for many years. I visited India only once around 10 or 11 years ago for a two-day exhibition event in New Delhi. It was a brief stay, and I hope to return soon to explore the country's rich history, culture, and spirituality. I've great relationships with eminent personalities like Sachin, Virat and many others. I've been in touch with Virat Kohli over texts for a few years, but we have never met in person," Djokovic had said.
